Occupational Employment Projections

Job Trends Associates is experienced producing short-term and long-term occupational employment projections for state and sub-state areas. Projections are done by detailed industry category with the new North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS), and then by detailed occupation category, using the new Standard Occupational Classification (SOC). We do the industry projections using E-views econometric software, and the Short-term Industry Projections and the Long-term Projections software developed by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration. We do the occupational projections using the Estimates Delivery System and MicroMatrix Occupational Projections Software. The resulting projections are available in more than 700 occupational categories.

Tracking Regional Economies

Job Trends Associates maintains regional economic indicators for tracking the regional economy. These include Amtrak boardings, National Airport enplanements, real estate sales, new unemployment claims and other indicators. We developed a total production index for clients and are experienced in using index measures to track local economies.We are experienced with the use of coincident and leading indexes for tracking regional economies.

Survey Research

Job Trends Associates conducts survey studies across a broad range of labor, job training, educational and business issues. Our latest work is occupational skills assessments in information technology and health care. The main objective of our Survey Research is to provide a full range of survey research services to business, government and the non-profit sector. Job Trends studies are conducted in collaboration with investigators in academia or research organizations, while still others are carried out solely through Job Trends. For carrying out either collaborative or independent research studies, we offer professionals with doctoral degrees or equivalent research experience. Our staff is supplemented on an as-needed basis by researchers from academia.
